On the road to Tokyo: todays winners at CPEDI The Peelbergen

Today was the first day of the CPEDI3* at Equestrian Centre de Peelbergen in the Netherlands. For many international participants this an importend observation moment towards the Paralympics in Tokyo later this summer. A total of eighty combinations started in five grades. Here’s a quick overview for you of todays winners

Grade I

With a total of 77,321% the Latvian rider Rihards Snikus and his bay gelding King of Dance (v. Kadilak LS) scored the highest in grade. The Norwegian rider Jens Lasse Dokkan and the black gelding Aladdin (v. Akinos) became second with a score from 75,833% and in third place we find Sara Morganti and Mariebelle (v. Lissaro van de Helle).

Grade II

The victory in grade II went to the German rider Heidemarie Dresing and her mare La Boum 20 (v. Londontime). The combination scored a total of 73,131%. Second place was for Katrine Kristensen from Danmark with the chestnut Welldone Dallas (v. Weltmeyer): she ended with a total score of 72,727%. Georgia Wilson from Great Britain and her beautiful mare Sakura ended up at a third place with a score of 71,212%.

Grade III

It was a very close call between the nummers one and two in grade III. The European Champion of 2019 in Rotterdam, Tobias Thorning Jorgensen from Denmark, won with his grey mare Jolene Hill (v. Blue Horse Schufro Hit). They managed an impressive score of 75,490%. With a small difference the newly crowned Dutch champion of last week, Rixt van der Horst and Findsley N.O.P. (v. Belissimo) ended in a second place with a total score of 75,392%. Third place was for another Dutch rider: Yvette Overgoor and Ace (v. Rubels) and a score of 71,814%.

Grade IV

A completely Dutch podium in grade IV. Sanne Voets and Demantur RS2 N.O.P. rocked this class, as the golden combination has managed many times before. The judges unanimously placed Sanne and her Vivaldi-offspring in first place with a score of 76,500%. Second place was for Demi Uijtewaal and Winando (v. Jetset-D) with a score of 72.667%.

Dutch riders Lotte Krijnsen and Tessa Baaijens van de Vrie ended with an equal score, but it was Lotte with Rosenstolz (v. Rotspon) that was put into third place and Tessa and Happy Grace ended in fourth.

Grade V

With twenty-one starts grade V was the biggest of today. Frank Hosmar and Alphaville N.O.P. scored the best, with an impressive 77,171%. Britney de Jong, whom only made her international debut in this grade back in April this year, and is already put on the longlist for Tokio, scored a second place today. She rode her highly talented gelding Caramba (v. Tuschinski). Third place was for the rider from Russia, Nataliya Martyanova and the Hannoveriaan mare Quinta (v. Quaterhall): they noted a score of 72,287%.
