Teams for European Championship Jumping Youth Vilamoura announced

National coaches Edwin Hoogenraat and Luc Steeghs have announced their teams for the European Jumping Championships for Children, Juniors and Young Riders in Vilamoura. The international title fight will take place in Portuguese Algarve from July 18 to 25, 2021. The Netherlands will defend the titles in the Nations Cup with the Children and the Young Riders.

The last European Youth Jumping Championship took place in 2019. Then on Dutch soil in Zuidwolde. The Young Riders team led by Luc Steeghs won gold two years ago and there was historic team gold for the Children led by Edwin Hoogenraat. There was also individual success with the silver for Emma Bocken in the Children and bronze for Lars Kersten in the Young Riders.

In the teams announced today by the national coaches, Rowen van de Mheen is the routine. He participated in several European Championships and was in the gold team two years ago. Mel Thijssen was a member of the Junior team in Zuidwolde. Wesley de Boer and Thijmen Vos are part of the Junior team in Portugal. Two years ago they were members of the golden Children team.
